KNOW YOUR LEGEND
Jamuna Gurung (Nepali: जमुना गुरुङ) is a Nepalese footballer. She is the former captain of the Nepalese women's national football team. She used to play as a striker.
It all began at the football ground at Jana Sewa School in Ramailo, Morang where she learnt to kick the ball for the first time. Although, she was the only female player in the team, she was determined to continue with the sport. Every time she saw her brothers playing, she thought she was meant to be at the ground rather than the stand, she was born for playing, not watching.
With 21 international goals and 35 in the domestic league Gurung is the most successful and prolific Nepalese women's footballer. She was the captain of both, National and Armed Police Force teams of Nepal. After her retirement she aims to help young girls excel in football.
